“Creativity and Photography go hand in hand for me. It's not all about the technicalities of the camera, but the shot itself - the composition, the light, and most importantly the feelings. I like to capture a moment forever, so that when that person or event has gone, they are still with me - always.”

After being given her first SLR at the age of 16, photography became an important part of Emmanuelle Wood’s life. During her German studies at The University of Liverpool and in her year out in Austria, her camera was also always in tow. Whilst working as an English Trainer in Graz, Emmanuelle beat hundreds for a place at the Academy for Applied Photography, wanting to realize her dream of developing her creative side and integrating it into everyday life.

The one-year course opened her up to portraying more emotion in her photographic work with the aid of a camera, and that's what she has been achieving in her images ever since. Not only working alone on various projects and exhibitions such as “knowing me”, Emmanuelle has also been involved in assisting and meeting up with the talented and highly successful photographers B!p Mistry and Ray Kyte. The knowledge acquired at these meetings is continually being incorporated into her photographs. Publications and clients using her work include amongst others, the Beaudesertshire Council in Queensland, Australia, Zebratl Magazine in Graz, Austria and El Portavoz magazine in Costa Rica.

Inspirations for Emmanuelle’s work include firstly her mother, who suffered from Multiple Sclerosis for many years and who died in 2005, secondly the different personalities of individuals, and finally the hidden beauties of each country.

Thanks to John her father for putting that SLR into her hand, to Tim, her very loyal brother, and to her fiancé Patrick, who keeps pushing her to never give up her dream.
